Code of Professional Practice

Optimal Financial Recruitment has adopted Recruitment and 

Employment Recruitment Confederation’s Code of Professional Practice (COP) with minor modifications.   

COP – Principle 1 – Respect for Law  

Optimal Financial Recruitment Owners and Staff (Collectively referred to as “Optimal”) must comply with all relevant legislation, statutory and non-statutory requirements and official guidance and any future amendments to such requirements during the course of providing their services to others. This includes the adherence laws especially as they relate to employee and contractor labor rights, child labor, forced labor, human trafficking, and excessive work hours, anti-bribery, and corruption and freedom of association.  

COP – Principle 2 – Respect for Honesty and Transparency 

  1. Optimal will act honestly in all dealings with work seekers, clients, vendors, and all others.  
  2. In the course of representing a work seeker or client, 
  3. Optimal shall not knowingly make a false or inaccurate statement, fail to disclose a material fact, or make a representation as to future matters without having reasonable ground. 
  4. Optimal must adhere to principles of truth in advertising and will only advertise positions, through any medium, for which they have documented permission to recruit. 
  5. All fees, charges and services provided must be explicitly and fully disclosed to clients prior to the acceptance of an assignment or prior to any work being undertaken for a client. 
  6. Optimal will document all key stages of the recruitment process in line with relevant legislation and good practice guidance. 

COP – Principle 3 – Respect for Work Relationships and Freedom  

  1. Optimal will not undertake actions that may unfairly or unlawfully jeopardize a work seeker’s employment. 
  2. Optimal will not undertake actions that may unfairly or unlawfully interfere in work relationships established by others. 
  3. Optimal will not attempt unfairly or unlawfully to prevent a work seeker from seeking work from other sources. 
  4. Optimal will in their dealings will treat them with respect and aim to work in a fair and open competitive environment. 
  5. Optimal promotes a responsible work environment and ensures compliance with an employee’s rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining without interference and freedom from discrimination.   

COP – Principle 4 – Respect for Diversity  

  1. Optimal should adhere to the spirit of all applicable human rights, employment laws and regulations and will treat work seekers, clients and others without prejudice or unjustified discrimination. Optimal should not act on an instruction from a client that is discriminatory and should, wherever possible, provide guidance to clients in respect good diversity practice. 
  2. Optimal and their staff will treat all work seekers and clients with dignity and respect and aim to provide equity of employment opportunities based on objective business-related criteria. 
  3. Optimal should establish working practices that safeguard against unlawful or unethical discrimination in the operation of their business. 

COP – Principle 5 – Respect for Safety  

  1. Optimal will act diligently in assessing risks to work seekers and clients and will not knowingly put at risk candidates, clients, or others. 
  2. Optimal will inform work seekers whenever they have reason to believe that an engagement may cause a risk to health and safety. 
  3. Optimal will provide a safe working environment in which people are treated with dignity, decency, and respect.  The environment will be characterized my mutual trust and absence of intimidation, oppression, and exploration. 
  4. Optimal will not tolerate unlawful discrimination or harassment of any kind including that which is related to sex, race, legal status, or other basis protected by antidiscrimination laws.  
  5. Optimal will not tolerate any sort of retaliatory act arising out of claim of discrimination or harassment  

COP – Principle 6 – Respect for Professional Knowledge  

  1. Optimal will work diligently to develop and maintain a satisfactory level of relevant and current professional knowledge. 
  2. Optimal will ensure that their staff are adequately trained and skilled to undertake their responsibilities in recruitment practice. 

COP – Principle 7 – Respect for Certainty of Engagement  

  1. Optimal must supply work seekers with full details of the work, conditions of employment, nature of the work to be undertaken, rates of pay, method and frequency of payment and pay arrangements in accordance with requirements of current legislation. 
  2. Optimal will ensure that any variation to the engagement can only occur with prior notification and agreement of the worker. 

COP – Principle 8 – Respect for Prompt and Accurate Payment  

  1. Optimal will pay promptly and accurately any wages and benefits due in accordance with any agreed terms and legal requirements. 
  2. Optimal should not penalize temporary/contract workers (e.g., having been late or failed to attend part or all of an assignment or for poor performance, by making deductions from pay due for time that they have actually worked. 
  3. Optimal will not take on assignments that could result in their inability to pay temporary/contract workers. 

COP – Principle 9 – Respect for Confidentiality and Privacy 

  1. Optimal must observe the highest principles of integrity, professionalism, equity, and fair practice to maintain the confidentiality and privacy of candidate and client information and should respect the confidentiality of records in accordance with law and good business practice. 
  2. Optimal and their staff must ensure that permission has been obtained and documented before disclosing, displaying, submitting, or seeking confidential or personal information.  

COP Principle 10 – Respect for Community and Environment  

  1. Optimal must observe the highest principles of environmental sustainability and adhere to all laws and good business practices. Optimal recognizes that we need to do our share to ensure that the present generation meets our needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own.  Optimal will utilize a life cycle analysis on an ongoing basis to ensure we minimize our environmental impact we perform our services.   
  2. Optimal and their staff will reduce wasteful practice, ensure we eco-efficient and conscious of energy conservation.  This includes mandating that only 100% recycled paper will be used in its operations. 
  3. Optimal evaluates their suppliers to ensure they share the same values regarding supporting the community and environment.  
  4. Optimal will endeavor to use certified diverse suppliers when available.  

All employees acknowledge that they have read the Optimal Code of Professional Practice as last edited and understand they are obligated to comply the principles, policies and Laws as outlined.
